Total Hip replacement is a major surgery that is performed under general anesthesia, and takes approximately 1 to 2 hours to complete the procedure.

Below we explain, in a very simplified way, the steps followed to carry out a total hip replacement intervention:

• Cutting of the bone and extraction of the head of the femur.

Postoperative of Total Hip replacement surgery

Once the surgery is completed, you will remain hospitalized for 4 to 5 days, under medical observation. When the analytical and radiological controls are correct, you will be discharged from hospital.

The total recovery time of a hip surgery ranges between 2 and 6 months.

In order to help you with the recovery process, the surgeon could recommend physiotherapy in your particular case (some patients may need it, but this is not a general recommendation for all patients who undergo a hip replacement).

Rehabilitation sessions are not included in the price of the surgery, since each patient requires a specific recovery.
