High-field MRI scan in Oviedo

High Field Magnetic Resonance Imaging is a diagnostic test that uses images to explore the areas of the body that need to be examined exhaustively. To carry out this detailed diagnosis, the MRI machine used is a 3 tesla machine, which makes it easier to see multiple lesions that, with other types of MRI scans, are not very evident.

On the day of the test, you should do nothing special. In some cases, you will need to fast for at least 6 hours, but your doctor will tell you this when he or she prescribes the test.

Once there, you will be fitted with a gown and asked to remove all metal objects. You will then be positioned on the moving table so that the area of your body to be examined is within the field of view of the machine's magnet.

During the MRI scan, you may hear loud noises, such as tapping or other sounds, so you may be given earplugs or have music played to reduce the noise.

When the high-field MRI is finished, you will leave the machine and can go home.

On the day of the High-Field MRI you must bring your medical prescription with you.
