San Juan de Dios Hospital

The San Juan de Dios Hospital, opened as a Surgical Clinic in 1956, has been adapting to different health needs over time. Currently, its main objective is to help patients achieve their highest degree of physical, mental, spiritual and social well-being, with preventive, curative and rehabilitative medical assistance.

The San Juan de Dios Hospital belongs to the Hospitaller Order of San Juan de Dios, whose fundamental principles and, therefore, those of the Hospital itself are: Hospitality, Respect, Responsibility, Quality and Spirituality.

However, the central value is Hospitality, based on which comprehensive and humanized assistance is promoted, guided by the rest of the values mentioned.

In 2019, the Excellence in Management Club, as the official representative in Spain of the European Foundation for Quality Management (EFQM), awarded the EFQM 400+ European Excellence seal, after successfully passing an external evaluation by AENOR.

On the other hand, in 2018, the Fire Department of the city of Burgos wanted to recognize the collaboration of the San Juan de Dios Hospital with its service.

The San Juan de Dios Hospital in Burgos collaborates with the Social Work of the Brothers of San Juan de Dios, the Religious Order to which it belongs, collecting donations from those who want to participate.

The social work of the San Juan de Dios Brothers intervenes in those groups that require greater attention, through 5 care programs: Care for children, Care for homeless people, Care for drug addicts, Care for people with physical disabilities and intellectual and international cooperation.

This Social Work is one of the largest non-profit organisations, with more than 300 centers around the world, which is sustained thanks to the collaboration of anonymous people and administrations that want to contribute to fairer social development.
