The purchase of the service includes the performance of the diagnostic test in the selected city and hospital.

Results in digital format
Once you have taken the test, the centre will specify how long the results will take and will provide them to you in digital format.
Each centre has its own way of providing the results: some will send them to you by email, others will send them via their own apps or online platforms. In either case, the centre team will tell you how to access them at the end of the test.

In Spain, a medical prescription is required for any diagnostic test. If you do not have one, you will need to see a specialist beforehand to obtain one.
Below, we explain the process step by step, whether you have it or not:
If you have a medical prescription
- Purchase the test as normal.
- Immediately afterwards, we will send you the instructions for you to send us the medical prescription to the e-mail address you used to make the purchase, so that we can manage the appointment.
- With the medical prescription we will be able to check that the diagnostic test purchased corresponds to the one indicated by the specialist.
- We will arrange your appointment with a date and time so that you can go to the hospital of your choice to undergo the test.
You do not have a medical prescription
If you do not have a medical prescription, Operarme will arrange a consultation with one of our specialists at a preferential price (subject to availability in the area). Contact us for more information.
During the consultation you will be able to inform the doctor about the test you need. He/she may ask you for a report in relation to your medical problem, if the test you need to have requires it.
If you do not have a prescription or report associated with the reason for the diagnostic test, it is likely that you will be referred to a face-to-face consultation. If this is your case, contact us for advice on how to proceed.
Remember: on the day of the test you must bring and show the Operarme voucher and the medical prescription.

Refund if test is not carried out
If after purchasing the test you decide not to take it or the date of the appointment does not suit your needs, you can request a refund. In these cases, we will refund you the full amount of your purchase without any problem.
To do so, please contact our customer service team before the date of the appointment, and we will manage the refund quickly and easily.

What should you take into account before purchasing the medical voucher for hip x-ray?
It is necessary to have a medical petition for x-rays. In the event that you don’t have one, you can purchase a private consultation with one of our specialists in Zafra, who will assess your medical problem or symptoms and if the doctor considers necessary, he/she will hand you a medical prescription for having x-rays.
Once you’ve purchased the Hip X-ray test, you will automatically receive an email with your medical voucher, information regarding the service and the hospital, and also an invoice of the test purchased.
Right after, you have to call the selected hospital/clinic’s contact number (indicated in the voucher), and request an appointment to take the test.
On the day of the appointment, you will need to take the prescription with you. If you attend without a prescription, it’s likely that the hospital staff may refer you to a private consultation first. This consultation is not included in the price of the Hip X-ray test you purchase on Operarme’s website and it is possible that the cost of the consultation at the hospital is higher than the preferential price published on our website for Operarme patients.

What does a 4-views Hip X-ray consist of?
On the day of the X-ray testing, the staff at the Hospital Parque Vía de la Plata will give you a robe and ask you to remove any metallic objects you might wear on you. It's highly important that you inform the technician if you are pregnant, or have any metallic object or parts in the hip area, such as a prosthesis or piercings.

- Position: You will lie on your back on an examination table, with your legs extended and your feet slightly apart. The radiologist may use pillows or blocks to help you maintain the correct leg position during the procedure.
- Imaging: The radiologic technician will take four X-ray images of your hip from different angles. At the time of the test, you will need to remain still during the x-ray exposure to avoid blurring the images. The four images are taken as follow:

Taking the first image: The radiologist takes an X-ray image of the hip in the AP (anteroposterior) position.

Second image acquisition: The radiologist takes an X-ray image of the hip in the lateral position.

Third image acquisition: The radiologist takes an X-ray image of the hip in the oblique position.

Fourth image acquisition: The radiologist takes an X-ray image of the hip in an axial position.

- Repetition of the imaging process: In some cases, additional images may need to be taken from different angles to get a complete view of the hip.
- Completion of the procedure: Once all the necessary images have been taken, you will be able to get up from the examination table and return to your normal activities.
After taking four images, the test will be completed. The radiologist will check the images to be sure that these have the quality required before the patient leaves the the Hospital Parque Vía de la Plata.

Hip X-ray (4 views) Results
Once the X-ray has been taken, the radiologist at the Hospital Parque Vía de la Plata will prepare a report with the interpretation of the images extracted from the 4-views Hip X-ray.
After a few days, you will receive the results. Normally, you will be given the tests in digital format, as well as a report specifying the most important observations of the test. However, you can find out how and when the results will be delivered on the day of the test or when you call at the Hospital Parque Vía de la Plata to make an appointment.

Is the radiation from an X-ray dangerous?
Generally, x-rays are safe and don’t cause severe side effects . However, as with any medical procedure involving radiation, there is a small risk associated with the exposure of X-rays; thus it is always important that this type of test is prescribed by a specialist based on your state of health.
The amount of radiation in an x-ray is quite low and is only limited to the area of the body to be examined. The exposure to radiation is generally compared to the natural exposure that we receive in our daily environment.
The benefits of an x-ray in early detection and diagnosis of diseases overcome the small risk of radiation exposure. It is always recommendable to speak with your doctor about any hesitation on the conditions and risks of having radiation exposure before a diagnostic test.

What happens if I buy a Hip X-ray test and don't have it?

If you attend without a prescription, you won’t have the X-ray done. It’s likely that the hospital staff may refer you to a private consultation first. This consultation is not included in the price of the X-ray test you purchase on Operarme’s website and it is possible that the cost of the consultation at the hospital is higher than the preferential price published on our website for Operarme patients.
If you need a prescription, you can first purchase and attend a private consultation with one of our specialists and tell the doctor about the symptoms you have; if the doctor considers an X-ray is necessary, he/she will hand you a prescription for the test.

How long does it take to get the results?
The delivery of results is different in each clinic/hospital, so you will be informed of this on the day of the test. You can also ask when you call the clinic to make an appointment for the test.
