1st stage:

• The surgery will begin with the application of local anaesthesia, as soon as it has taken effect, the specialist will place the surgical guide in the mouth, and mark the point of entry into the bone through the hole in the surgical guide, by using a straight and strong probe.
• The next step will be making a small incision on the area, thus the flap is retracted.
• After the incision, a perforation or drilling will be made: this action is performed intermittently, preventing the bone from overheating and necrosis.
• Once the hole is prepared for the implant, the piece is inserted and tightened with the help of a special spanner.
• After the implant has been inserted, it’s covered with a closing screw.
• Next, the specialist will place sutures with resorbable material. During the closing it is possible, in some cases, to leave the closing screw in contact with the oral cavity, or on the contrary, to submerge it under the flap.
• Once the suture has been completed, light pressure is applied with a damp gauze pad to prevent bruising. Finally, the specialist will give you instructions for care at home, and schedule appointments for check-ups until the start of the second stage.

2nd stage:

• After 3-4 months, healing is complete and osseointegration of the implant is complete. The specialist will open again the area of the tooth to check the state of the implant, remove the closing screw, and connect the pillar that will stay in contact with the oral cavity.
• Right after, the prosthesis or provisional crown will be placed instead, until the healing is completed and the definitive crown can be inserted.
• While the implant finishes integrating, your Specialist will begin the restorative stage in which different tests will be carried out to create the definitive prosthesis or crown.
• Once the definitive and personalised prosthesis has been achieved, the Specialist will proceed to remove the provisional crown and adjust the definitive one, achieving a perfect and natural finish.
