First stage:

• The next step is to make a small incision in the area to remove some of the tissue and gain access to the bone.
• The specialist will then use a small surgical drill to drill the bone at low speed and intermittently to control the temperature, while irrigating the area with plenty of cold, sterile saline solution. This action is done at various times, starting with a smaller drill and changing to larger sizes until the exact size is achieved and suitable for implant placement.
• When the hole is adequate, the implant is placed and the incision area is sutured for healing.
• This process is performed twice, since two implants are needed to complete the treatment.
• You will be given a gauze pad which you should press against the gum for about an hour.

The duration of the intervention to place the implants is around 1-2 hours. Once this stage is completed, you will return home with some instructions that you will need to follow for post-surgery care.

It’s recommended to have someone to accompany you back home, and avoid driving.

Second stage:

• Once the needed time of healing for both implants has passed, you will need to go back to your Caser dental clinic to make the impressions necessary for the fabrication of the overdenture. • After a couple of weeks, you will return to the clinic for the locator anchors to be placed, and the overdenture delivered to you.
