Once the test has been completed, the centre will specify how long the results will take and will provide them to you in digital format.
Each centre has its own method for providing results: some will send them to you via email, while others will do so through their own applications or online platforms. In any case, the centre's team will indicate how to access them upon completion of the test.

In Spain, a medical prescription is necessary to perform any diagnostic test. If you do not have one, it will be necessary to previously attend a consultation with a specialist to obtain it.
The following explains the process step by step, whether you have one or not:
If you have a medical prescription
- Purchase test as normal.
- Immediately afterwards, we will send the instructions to the email address used for the purchase so that you can send us the medical prescription , enabling us to manage the appointment.
- With the medical prescription, we will be able to verify that the purchased diagnostic test corresponds to the one indicated by the specialist.
- We will manage your appointment with a date and time so that you can go to your preferred hospital to have the test performed.
If you do not have a medical prescription
If you do not have a medical prescription , Operarme will manage a private consultation for you with one of our specialists at a preferential price (subject to availability in the area). Contact us for more information.
During the consultation, you will be able to inform the doctor about the test you need. It is possible that they may ask for a medical report regarding your medical problem, if the test you need requires it.
Remember: on the day you undergo the test, you must bring and show the Operarme medical voucher and the medical prescription.

Refund of the amount if the test is not performed
If, after having purchased test, you decide not to go ahead with it or the appointment date does not suit your needs, you can request a refund. In these cases, we will refund the full amount of your purchase without any problem.
To do this, contact our patient service team before the date of the appointment, and we will manage the refund quickly and easily.

What does an Electroencephalogram (EEG) consist of?
An Electroencephalogram (EEG) is used to diagnose and monitor conditions such as epilepsy, sleep disorders, brain injuries, and other neurological conditions. It is a safe, non-invasive test and does not cause pain.
The electroencephalogram is a tool that allows understanding of how the brain works and identifying potential problems.
How is the Electroencephalogram (EEG) performed in the Hospital IMED Elche?
- You will sit in a comfortable chair or lie down on a stretcher. It will be recommended that you arrive with clean hair and without products such as gel or spray, as this can affect the electrodes.
- The technician places small metal discs called electrodes on your scalp which, in turn, will be connected to a machine by means of cables. Do not worry, these electrodes will not hurt you; they simply pick up the electrical activity of your brain.
- During the test, you will not have to do anything other than be relaxed. The electrodes will collect the electrical signals produced by your brain and these will be recorded on a machine that shows them as wavy lines on a graph. You may be asked to open and close your eyes, to breathe deeply or to perform some other simple action. Sometimes, you may be shown flashing lights to see how your brain responds to visual stimuli.
The test can last between 20 minutes and 1 hour, depending on what the doctor is looking for. In some cases, if they want to study how your brain functions during sleep, the test may last longer.
Once the EEG is finished, the technician removes the electrodes and you can return to your daily routine without any problem. The EEG results will be analysed by a specialist, who will look for patterns or irregularities in the brain activity.

On the day of the electroencephalogram (EEG), you must bring the medical prescription to your centre in Elche.
